A. A Daisy-Chain is a wiring technique that enables multiple serial communication devices to be grouped together and controlled by a single PC COM Port. This technique relies on a particular addressing method and a corresponding device architecture.
In a daisy-chain system, the first device is connected to the port of some sort of controller device - a COM1 (RS-232C) port, for example – while the second device is connected to the first device, the third one to the second one, and so on. Each device in the chain is equipped with one input port and one output port. The device input port is a female DB9 connector, while the output port is a male DB9 connector.
The cables connecting the first device to the second, the second to the third etc are all of the same type.  The male end of each wire connects to the input port of a device and the female end connects to the device output port of the previous device in the daisy-chain, or the controller’s output port.
The distance from each device to the next should be at most 15 meters, as each device includes a transmitter/receiver buffer.
Handling a Daisy-Chain system is simple and easy, as long as each device is assigned a uniqe address; one should never set two or more devices to the same address.  Since the address range provides for up to 256 devices, this should not be a problem.
Once the devices in the daisy-chain have been wired together, configuring them is easy to do using the setup software provided.

A. A “type A” relay, also known as a "Form A", has two terminals that are normally "open", but become "closed" when a software instruction causes the relay to energize and close the contacts.

A relay of type C, also known as a "Form C", as well as "SPDT", has three terminals:
a common one (“C”)
a "normally open" one (“NO”)
a "normally closed" one (“NC)

A type C relay is usually used in cases where a "closed contact" is desired when the relay is not energized, or in cases where a selection between two sources or loads is needed.
The disadvantage of selecting between two sources or loads using a single Form C relay is that selection is made even when the controller is not powered up. The IA-3136 relays controller is equipped with a special guard relay, whose function is to prevent any selection on "power down" and "power up".

1. Locate it. All Programs, Accessories, Communications, Hyper Terminal.

2. You are being asked to provide it a name. Choose a name, press OK.

3. You are being asked to provide a phone number. Ignore it.

4. Proceed to "Connect using" and choose the right COM port you are using.

    In case of physical COM Port, follow your wiring.

    In case of Virtual COM Port, created by a USB module, use the Device Manager

    to track it down. You may use an appropriate FAQ or the modules User Manual.

5. Press OK.

6. Set the "bits per second". The IA-3000 modules default is 19200.

7, Leave the next 3 options as is. "8", "None", "1".

8. Set the "Flow control" to "Non".

9. Press OK.

10. You get an empty screen for you to type and get comments.

11. Select "File", "Properties", "Settings" and then "ASCII Setup".

12. Now set the "Echo typed characters locally" and.

13. Kindly set the "Append line feeds to incoming line ends", as well,

14. And finish setting by confirming OK and OK again.

15. Now try typing "?002" and then the "Enter" button. Make sure typing only ?002 and  then the 

     "enter" button.

16. You should get "_0000" or any other 4 Hex digits that corresponds to the inputs and

      output status, according to the module in use. Look up your modules Manual for more details.
