The IA-3000-2 Series are a low-cost range of RS-232 relay boards, digital I/O units and Analog I/O modules for desk-top, panel mount or Industrial DIN rail mounting. They feature mains rated relays of up to 240VAC 16Amp, as well as signal multiplexing modules, DPDT relays module, and high density modules.
The IA-3000-2 Series, Serial RS-232 Relay board, includes 64 channels Digital Input boards, with user defined Positive or Negative Logic, with optional "peer-to-peer" operation mode and other unique features.
All IA-31xx-2, RS-232 Relay Boards have a dual COM Port structure. A Femail DB9 Input COM port connector, and a Mail DB9 Output COM port connector.
This Daisy-Chain structure is completely transparent to the user. The user's software referes to eache chained board as if it was directly connected to the PC COM port. All buffering and converting tasks are made by hardware.
Each board may be installed up to 15 meters apart from the PC or from the previous chain module.
Wiring the chain is most simple, as all wiring is made by standard direct pin-to-pin Male/Female RS-232, DB9/DB9 Serial cable that you can find everywhere, at a very low price, in standard length of 1.8, 3, 5, 10 and 15 meters.
Each module has its own address, while handling this address is most simple, as it is a part of the operation command.
Each IA-3000 Series board is provided with a wide literature package on CD, that includes the product's dedicated User Manual, with a detailed software and hardware installation guide, including several wiring options, when applicable.
The software package includes an API software DLL package, as well as Open Source sample programs, for those customers that prefer developing their own software.
Most software programs that can send or receive ASCII data to an RS232 port, are suitable to operate the IA-3000-U modules. Typical programs that can be used are Windows HyperTerminal emulator, MXTTY, as well as GenieDAQ, ADAMView, LabVIEW, DasyLab, TestPoint and more.
